On Monday the 21st of November we went on a trip to the Roman Baths in Bath and we all had a brilliant time! When we arrived at the Baths we explored the museum and learnt lots of new and interesting facts about the Baths. For example Romans used to throw money into the water to thank the Goddess Minerva for blessing them with it as a resource. We also discovered that the Baths were one of the first buildings to be erected when the Romans came to Britain over 2,000 years ago!
In the afternoon, we had a brilliant time taking part in a Roman Workshop. Here we learnt all about Roman cooking and all theunusual things they had for dinner including peacock brains! We also got a chance to dress up in Roman clothes- wearing togas and tunics and act out being different characters either soldiers or slaves! Our final morning activity was to make our own Roman mosaics out of square tiles, we really enjoyed doing this and debated whether we thought that mosaics are a form of art.
Here are some photos of our fantastic day out! Feel free to ask us questions about our trip if you see us around school.
